Microsoft seems to have canceled the global congress Build 2020 due to coronavirus. It was scheduled to take place in Seattle on May 19-21, 2020.
Microsoft seems to have finally decided to cancel the biggest tech event of the year, the Build 2020 conference, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Build 2020 was scheduled to take place at Seattle from May 19 to 21. The company is trying to hold said conference in a digital version, with all sessions being streamed live connection.
Of course Build is usually streaming online anyway, but because of it coronavirus, the physical presence of people is a decision that reduces the chance of the virus spreading.
According to TheVerge, their company announced that: “The safety of our community is a top priority. In light of her safety recommendations healths for the state of Washington, we will offer the annual Microsoft Build event for developers as a digital event, instead of an in-person event. We look forward to bringing all our developers together in this new virtual format to learn, connect and code together. Stay tuned to get more details”.
The official Build 2020 event website but it continues to display a warning that Microsoft is monitoring the coronavirus epidemic to make the appropriate decision on other events in the coming months. He does not mention the cancellation of the physical presence at the conference but the chances are that the conference will be done digitally.
