Following faithfully the "democratic" path that we are accustomed to Microsoft announced a change to Cortana that will probably not please the Windows community.
Starting with the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update, users are no longer allowed to completely disable the Cortana digital assistant, but only hide it from line tasks.
So Cortana closure will only be possible with tweaks that disable certain services.
In the current version of Windows 10 Cortana can be disabled from Settings, and the icon on the taskbar will be replaced with a search icon that allows you to perform searches with Bing.
The upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update seems to change this behavior, and Cortana will continue to search for information locally even if you disable it.
Pro and Enterprise versions of Windows 10 will have options to disable CoRana, but for Home Edition users, disabling will be impossible.
Please note that through the service Microsoft can collect data (even "branded" from the moment you are logged in to your account). The company of course assured that no data is collected and that users are supposed to be safe at all times.
"With Windows 10 Anniversary Update, the search box will be through Cortana. "Customers can expect the same great search experience from Bing and Microsoft Edge with the added benefit of Cortana personality," said a company spokesman.
"We know that consumers want it choice customization and personalization or opt-out of Cortana's suite of personalized services. Cortana works best when you're connected, but if you choose not to be, you can still use it to chat, search the web, and your device. If you want, you can also easily hide Cortana and the taskbar search box altogether.”
Let's wait for the reactions…
Interestingly, while the company continues to say that it is developing Windows 10 according to the wishes of the end user, some issues do not seem to be back. What are these;
