Microsoft is going to create a new bigger one Data Center, in Iowa, United States, which is expected to cost about 1,1 billion dollars.
The new Data Center will be built on an area of 623 acres in region West Des Moines, just a few kilometers from an already existing facility of the company. The original facility in West Des Moines opened in 2008, and $677,6 million was spent on its expansion last year. The new project is going to be one of the largest of its kind, since it is planned to occupy a total area of 111.483,648 square meters.
As it became known, the Iowa Economic Development Authority approved the program and provided Microsoft with a tax deduction of 20,3 million dollars. This discount will be available until 2021. It is worth mentioning that the annual revenue of the municipal authority of the region, from taxes paid by Microsoft, will amount to 8 million dollars. At the same time, as announced with the completion of the project, 84 will have created new jobs.

With the announcement of the project, the "mystery" of the company behind Project Alluvion was also solved, which comes to be added to a series of investments in Data Centers in that particular State. In total, the related investments in Iowa amount to 2 billion dollars. In fact, in West Des Moines in particular, apart from Microsoft, Facebook also maintains a Data Center.
