In April, Microsoft released dynamic updates for Windows 10 with versions KB5057589, KB5055674, KB5056474, KB5055769, KB5055768, and KB5055770. KB5057589 it was for WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) that continued to fail with error code 0x80070643, despite the fact that users' computers met the necessary requirement of having more than 250 MB of disk space for the recovery partition.
Microsoft closed the problem in April (probably said: pretend you don't see it), and promised a better update that wouldn't cause problems again. The company said at the time that Windows "will not offer this update again" if you had already installed it.
However, with the monthly dynamic updates (also released for Windows 11) that accompany the July 2025 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 10, Microsoft has again released a new update for WinRE, this time with the version KB5063523.
