Microsoft is preparing a new feature in Windows that will allow the company's hardware partners to send driver updates to Windows 10 from the upcoming 2004 release.
Windows 10 2004 will probably be released in the spring (April or May).
Microsoft says that the adoption of this new feature called "Manual Drivers" allows driver developers to detect any problems faster and thus prevent system crashes.
A new optional update screen in Windows 10 will display the drivers you need to install separately. The following screen is only available on devices running the 2004 version.
"By allowing automated drivers to run on Windows 10 customers through the new Windows Update UX, we also enable support teams to quickly address driver issues without waiting for company updates." he says Microsoft in a description of the changes it made to the Hardware Dev Center.
The "Manual" option will require hardware partners to explain why they uploaded the update. The drivers submitted through the "Manual" option will be offered to the systems through the new Windows Update UX, as you can see in the first image.
Windows 10 version 2004 is currently in full swing and are available for Insiders who are registered in the fast ring.
