Today, Microsoft finally released a major update for the Browser Edge on iOS. After prolonged tests, the version 93.961,47 is rolling out to all users following the Edge Stable channel and for iPhone and iPad users.
What makes this release special is that this is the first stable version of Edge for iOS with a single code base for all platforms. Several months ago, Microsoft promised to bring all versions of Edge under one umbrella with a single build number.
This makes the development process much faster and easier, as developers no longer need to code a single feature three times for the different platforms (desktop, iOS and Android). This also helps Edge mobile devices to keep up with the competition.
Android was the first mobile platform released by Microsoft Edge for all users on the Stable channel. On iOS, however, it took Microsoft much longer to test and improve the features before the browser was officially released to the public.
