Microsoft continues to try to convince Windows 10 users to use only the Microsoft Edge.
A user of the reddit recently revealed that Microsoft is trying to steer Windows users to its own program browsing even if they search Firefox with Windows 10's built-in search feature.
As you can see in the image below, searching for Firefox on a Windows 10 PC shows Microsoft Edge as the first result, while Firefox, which application that exactly matches the search keyword, appears second.
Microsoft Edge for Microsoft is the "best match," search result.
Of course, users don't like such tactics, and especially those who have been using the Mozilla Foundation browser for years. We should mention that for these users in particular, Microsoft's specific tactics will not be as effective as the company hopes company.
However, statistics show that Microsoft Edge has a market share of just over 4%, while o Google Chrome clearly ahead with 65%. This means that the majority of Windows 10 users do not use Edge and that Google Chrome and Firefox are the preferred alternatives.
