For some reason, Microsoft does not understand that it does not need to use hostile practices to advertise its browser.
Many users agree that Chrome-based Edge is one of the best alternatives to Chrome and its ever-growing list of privacy concerns. Edge no longer crashes when you try to open a video on YouTube and users do not have to wait six months to receive an update.
However, Microsoft believes that this is not enough.
The company does not seem to be happy with the adoption of Edge, which means users will have to prepare for another flood of annoying messages trying to prevent Chrome from downloading.
Many users report seeing various pop-up messages on the Edge when trying to download Chrome. One of these banners says that Microsoft Browser uses the same technology as Chrome, which is true but with Microsoft validity.
The company is clearly trying to beat Google for some of the controversial spy APIs and convince users that Edge is more reliable than Chrome.
Although Google also uses similar practices, Microsoft uses very aggressive messages:
- “That browser [Chrome] is so 2008! Do you know what's new? Microsoft Edge. ”
- "I hate saving money," said no one ever. Microsoft Edge is the best browser for online shopping. ”
However, there is hope. The latest preview version of Windows 11 includes a new button that allows users to set a default browser with a single click.
Microsoft will probably continue to annoy its users with pathetic pop-ups, but at least it will be easier to switch from Edge to Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi, or whatever you prefer.
I have fun every time I hear someone say: "I do not want a smart phone because it is monitoring me", at the same time that it has permanently open (through his account), on the computer, chrome.
I have fun with him because he does not think that any supranational company (big mama google) knows: what he eats, what he wants, what he buys, how long he has been fooling around with blondes and how many brunettes, how many kilos of apples he bought and how many oranges from online stores, how much he spends, how much francs in his account (s.s. do not listen foolishly for https, for secure banking environments and the like…).
You will tell me: but the same happens with the edge. Of course!
But there are other oranges that make unregistered oranges) AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMANENTLY OPEN Gmail, Yahoo mail, Ms mail in your browser.
I may be considered off topic in the subject. But I said, since… crystal clear Ms is talking about safety, let me talk…
