Microsoft announced recently financial Results for Q4 FY2015, revealing a loss of $2.1 billion.
The Redmond εξηγεί ότι τα αποτελέσματά του επηρεάστηκαν από τα 7.5 δισmillions which it pulled from Nokia's devices and services division, as the company said the restructuring charge was necessary.
“There was also a $ 160 million burden associated with the plan we had announced to complete the restructuring. Together, these figures amounted to losses of $ 8.4 billion.
Εκτός από τον εν λόγω αντίκτυπο, τα λειτουργικά έσοδα θα ήταν 6.4 δισεκατομμύρια δολάρια” εξηγεί η Microsoft, προσπαθώντας να επισημάνει ότι τα αποτελέσματά της θα ήταν πολύ better without the withdrawal of funds from the Nokia division.
Specifically, revenue from Devices and Consumer and Windows OEM declined during the 4 quarter, showing a decrease of 13% and 22%, respectively.
Τα έσοδα της εταιρείας όμως από τα Surface tablets, φέρεται να εκτινάχθηκαν στα ύψη και σημείωσαν μια αύξηση της τάξης του 117% κυρίως χάρη στο Surface Pro 3.
Sales of windows phone, on the other hand, collapsed as official revenue figures revealed a 68% drop in Q4. As the data continues to show, Windows Phone is a painful story, and points to the need for further growth.
The CEO of Microsoft though, Mr. Satya Nadella, seems to see the glass as half full as it cites as a positive the fact that some segments showed relatively large increases and explains that the imminent arrival of Windows 10 will create more opportunities for higher revenues.
