Microsoft New Updates for Intel Processors

Here we go again: Microsoft has released new Intel microcode updates to the that replace or update previous updates to Specter variants.

Updates are available for Windows 10 in versions 1803, 1709, 1703, 1607 and 1507. Currently only available through the Microsoft Update Catalog.Microsoft

Updates KB4346084, KB4346085, KB4346086, KB4346087, KB4346087, KB4346087, KB4346087, and KB4346088 protect against various that target vulnerabilities in Intel processors and affect most of them.

Microsoft says for updates:

Intel announced that it has completed its validations and started providing microcode for recent CPUs that protect against Specter Variant 3a (CVE-2018-3640: “RSRE)”, Specter Variant 4 (CVE-2018-3639: “Storage Bypass (SSB )”), L1TF (CVE-2018-3615, CVE-2018-3646: “L1 Terminal Fault”).

In short, the new update adds for Specter variants 3a and 4 and includes previous updates released by Intel and Microsoft.

The updates are standalone for Windows 10, and the fixes work directly (protect directly) on the systems of those concerned. Those of you who are thinking of updating the update links are below:
