Η Microsoft finally decided to give Windows completely free, but only for manufacturers who are planning to make tablets smaller than 9 inches.
At the same time, phone makers who decide to support Windows will benefit from the also free licenses, Microsoft's Terry Myerson revealed today at BUILD.
There were no other details, but it is quite clear that prices are expected to drop significantly, and Microsoft also expects to see many more devices running modern versions of its OS in the coming months.
Redmond, too, is expected to bring its own cub tablets on the market, possibly called the Surface Mini, which could compete with devices like the iPad mini and the Nexus 7.
