Microsoft has decided to make available for free OneNote for Mac and Windows, trying to compete with Evernote, which is still at the forefront of application notes on too many platforms.
The OneNote 2013 for Windows, which you can download for free starting today, works on Windows 7, Windows 8. OneNote for Windows 8 comes with support for the modern desktop, and it's also free.
Microsoft OneNote for Mac, on the other hand, is already in the Mac App Store, with a free license, and provides support for many languages, including English, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. It comes in the form of a 235 MB package and requires OS X 10,9 or higher version.
“With OneNote, you can capture your idea, the moment of inspiration, or jot down lists of things that are too important to forget. Whether you are in home, in the office or on the road, the notes they travel with you. You can share your notes and collaborate with others, across multiple devices!” reports Microsoft says in the app's official description.
