Microsoft Outlook sends all Tuta (formerly Tutanota) emails to spam

Microsoft Outlook sends all emails from the tutanota.com domain to the Spam folder. Tuta (formerly Tutanota) is used by more than ten million people, so many are affected.

The company contacted Microsoft directly, but so far there is no result.

“We have tried repeatedly to resolve the issue with Microsoft, but unfortunately the Microsoft support team has only responded with standard emails. The matter has not been resolved till date, so we decided to make the matter public". he says Matthias Pfau, co-founder and CEO of Tuta;

This is a simple example of how Microsoft can and does abuse its dominant market position to harm its competitors, which in turn harms consumers.

THE big tech companies have been under attack recently from the US (United States v Google LLC) and the European Union (DMA) – and rightly so.

Tuta as a small email service that focuses on privacy and security is directly affected by the abuse of the big tech companies in the market.

"We've learned from similar issues when AT&T blocked access to the Tutanota site or when Tutanota users couldn't register accounts on Microsoft Teams that such issues are only resolved when they're made public," says Pfau, and he's probably right.

"These errors cause problems not only for Tuta and our reputation, but also for our customers," adds Pfau.

Of course, mistakes happen and it is possible that the domain tutanota.com was classified as spam on purpose, especially since all Tuta domains have a very good sender score and our systems take care to stop outgoing spam. Additionally, emails from Tuta are not moved to Spam in Gmail or Yahoo Mail. However, Big Tech should be held responsible for the consequences of such mistakes – especially if they show no interest in fixing them.
