Microsoft released new patches to fix vulnerabilities in its software for this month. The release of updates includes eight new patches, and the most critical of them, was in the Windows Telnet service. The defect could allow an attacker to make malicious changes to a device.
Although it was the most critical update, the service is not enabled by default, except on Windows systems Server & Hosting 2003 which is no longer supported by the company.
The other patched bugs were labeled by the company as “important,” and could allow an attacker to elevate user privileges, bypass built-in possibilities better safetyς, και να ξεκινήσει επιθέσεις denial-of-service.
Η Microsoft also released a patch for the vulnerability revealed by Google last week, which caused (once again) friction between the two companies.
In a major post, Microsoft's Chris Betz argued that the security landscape is becoming "increasingly complex," and that companies should "work together" rather than have the details of a security vulnerability before it can be fixed.
Google said it reported the error since October, and revealed it after a waiting period of 90 days.
