Microsoft has finally confirmed two new known issues in the latest Windows 10 updates official webpage of the operating system update history.
April of 2019 was not lucky for Microsoft even though everything seemed to be right. Microsoft has announced that it will postpone the release of the next major Windows 10 feature update at the end of May for 2019 to win another test round in the Preview Release Ring.
But everything went wrong on Patch Day in April 2019. Administrators and users found that operating Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server "Froze" after installing the updates released by Microsoft that day.
Microsoft acknowledged the error after some time and confirmed that freezing occurred on devices that had some third-party antivirus installed.
Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 / 2019 did not seem to have a problem at first. However, Microsoft has recently identified two new problems caused by updates to these operating systems.
The updated version KB4493509 for Windows 10 of 1809, causes both problems, and updates to earlier versions of Windows 10 cause only one known issue.
The issue that affects devices in enterprise environments for the most part, and only those that use the Cluster Shared Volumes feature.
Microsoft states that some features may fail under certain conditions:
Some functions, such as renaming files or folders on a shared disk (CSV), may fail with the "STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL (0xC00000A5)" error. This happens when you run the operation on a CSV node from a process that does not have administrator privileges.
Microsoft recommends that you run the administrative or node processes that are not CSVs. Microsoft seems to be preparing a solution to the problem and will include it in upcoming updates.
However, Windows 10 version 1809 is also affected by another issue related to proletteranti-viruses. According to the patch notes, installed ArcaBit antiviruses may become unresponsive at first after installing the update.
Microsoft and ArcaBit have identified the issue on devices they have installed software protection of ArcaBit.
ArcaBit is one company security from Poland.
The issue seems to be limited to ArcaBit's software, according to Microsoft that says nothing about Avast, and Sophos, which suggests that the problem may be different from a problem we mentioned earlier.
