Microsoft will start showing alerts on devices running versions of Windows 10 that expire soon, as the company's goal is for everyone to have the latest version of their operating system.
Microsoft usually displays termination notifications in older versions of Windows, such as Windows 7, but in Windows 10, it did not use such an approach.
Starting with the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, which is due to expire later this year, Microsoft will start warning users to update to a newer version. Otherwise none of them will be able to get new ones feature updates, or security.
As you can see in the image above, a message will appear on devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) warning users that the end of support is approaching.
You are currently running a version of Windows that is nearing the end of support. We recommend that you update to the latest version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security enhancements
Compared to other warnings that appeared after the first release of Windows 10, this one seems to be less annoying, as it only exists in Windows Update.
On the other hand, there is a possibility that we will see the warning become much more annoying, if there are many who do not want to upgrade, or in the case of beginners who do not visit the Windows Update settings page very often.
