But immediately after the announcement of the withdrawal of HERE Maps from the Windows Store, a Microsoft executive revealed to Reddit that the company is already preparing a great update on the default Window Maps application. The update is expected to be released soon.
Αρχικά θα λάβουν την ενημέρωση μόνο οι Insiders, καθώς η Microsoft θέλει να συλλέξει περισσότερα σχόλια σχετικά με τα νέα characteristics. Η εφαρμογή θα διατεθεί στο ευρύ κοινό τους επόμενους μήνες, πιθανώς με την ενημέρωση του λειτουργικού συστήματος στην έκδοση Redstone which will take place this summer.
Χωρίς το Google Maps και τα HERE Maps, οι χρήστες του Windοws Phone και του λειτουργικού Windοws 10 Mobile δεν έχουν κάποια άλλη επιλογή except from Windows' built-in Maps solution, which obviously should come with more improvements to meet today's expectations.
Another solution is to use Google Maps from your Edge browser. But, of course, a specific map-only application will be much more practical, but Google does not seem willing to provide an official client for Window 10 and Window 10 Mobile.
Hopefully, future Microsoft updates will greatly improve Window maps.
