Microsoft has often been criticized for how aggressive it has been with the offer free upgrade to Windows 10, since there were some who reported that the new operating system system installed on their computer while they had declined the upgrade.
Chris Capossela, Microsoft's General Manager of Marketing, stated in the latest edition of Windows Weekly that indeed the company he pulled it off, pointing out that there were two very critical weeks, when users began to repeatedly complain about the unexpected behavior of the new operating system.
"Finding the right balance that doesn't go over the line to be very aggressive is something we tried very hard this year." dialog disappeared and you couldn't cancel the upgrade.
"And within a few hours of messages of world, with the listening systems we have we knew we had gone too far. Then, of course, it took some time to develop an update that changes this behavior. Both of these weeks have been quite strenuous and decidedly low-light for us. We learned a lot from that obviously.”
