Microsoft promises to fix Windows 11 in 2026

It's no secret that Windows 11 is not in great shape right now. From features no one asked for to disastrous updates, it seems like this operating system will continue to annoy everyone, with Microsoft only interested in introducing yet another artificial intelligence feature.

The backlash from users was so intense that Microsoft executives were forced to disable comments on social media. However, something is about to change. Pavan Davuluri, head of Windows at Microsoft, issued a statement to The Verge which states that the company is listening to what users are saying and plans to improve things.

“The feedback we’re getting from our customer and Windows Insider community has been clear. We need to improve Windows in ways that matter. This year you’ll see us focus on addressing the things we hear from our customers all the time: improving system performance, reliability, and the overall Windows experience.”

He also added that the team is hearing complaints from Windows Insiders about the poor state of the operating system and is noticing that the flame of old enthusiasm has died down.

While the message sounds reassuring, it's the actions that count. Microsoft has a lot of work to do to regain user trust, show that it still cares about its consumer products, and that it can fix things.

For now, though, things are looking rather bleak, with January 2026 being one of the worst months for Windows bugs on record. So if you're skeptical about Microsoft's promise to fix Windows 11, you're right.

Do you think Microsoft can change things on Windows 11 in 2026?
