Microsoft backs Epic Games in dispute with Apple

Epic Games, Fortnite's company, continues the controversy against Apple policy, and apparently has a new supporter.
A lawsuit filed by Microsoft reports that Apple's latest threat to cut off Epic Games' access from the of Apple developers would hurt their business (Reuters)

Kevin Gammill, General Manager of Gaming Experience της Microsoft, αναφέρει τη σημασία του Unreal of Epic and what would happen if Apple chooses to cut off access to developer tools.

He says the Unreal Engine is a "critical technology for many game developers, including Microsoft" as it provides "graphics, rending, physics, sound and other technologies that work across multiple platforms".

Most importantly, however, Gammill points out that many developers do not "have the resources or capabilities to build their own game engine and use third-party engines."

What does this mean for the future of Epic Games and Microsoft games?

If Epic's Unreal Engine can't support iOS and macOS games, Microsoft will have to make or leave it. of customers on iOS and macOS platforms or choose a different engine to develop new games.
