Mobile Verification Toolkit (MVT) is tracking your mobile?

The Mobile Verification Toolkit (MVT) is an open source tool from Amnesty International Security Lab, designed for technicians and researchers to analyze Android and iOS devices and detect traces of interception (spyware, malware).

It simplifies the acquisition and analysis of digital evidence (such as logs, databases) and uses known indicators of compromise (IOCs from identifying any signs of compromise) to find clues such as Pegasus infection, offering a deep technical methodology.

Key Features & Functions:

iOS Analysis: Decrypts iOS backups, processes system and application databases, and extracts system analyses.
Android Analysis: Exports installed applications and diagnostic data via the ADB protocol.
Intrusion Detection: Helps detect targeted attacks and spyware infections, such as Pegasus.
For Technical Users: Requires knowledge of digital forensics and command-line usage.
Open & Collaborative: It was developed as part of the Pegasus Project (2021) and continues to be maintained by the community.

In essence, MVT is a specialized, investigative tool for security professionals, not the average user, that enables deep digital forensics research on mobile devices.
