Η Moderna ανακοίνωσε ότι μηνύει την Pfizer και την συνεργάτιδα Γερμανική εταιτεία BioNTech για παραβίαση διπλωμάτων ευρεσιτεχνίας στην ανάπτυξη του πρώτου εμβολίου για τον Covid-19.
The American pharmaceutical company claims that the mRNA technology it developed before the pandemic was copied. The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified financial rewards, was filed on USA and Germany.
Pfizer said the company has not yet received the legal documents and was unable to comment at this time.
In a statement, Moderna said Pfizer/BioNTech copied two types that are its intellectual property. The first violation involved an mRNA structure that Moderna says its scientists began developing in 2010 but were the first to validate with tests on people the 2015.
The second offense concerns the codification of the spike protein on the outside of the virus itself.
“We are filing these lawsuits to protect the innovative mRNA technology platform that we pioneered, invested billions of dollars in creating, and patented with degree patent in the decade leading up to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel.
