The release of two ultra-thin TV panels, one of which is so flexible that it can be wrapped in a three-centimeter roll, announced the LG.
The company is confident that it will be able to produce an 60 Ultra HD TV wound up to 2017. The new flexible panel has 1.200 x 810 resolution, which remains unchanged even after winding. According to LG, this impressive flexibility was achieved thanks to the use of high molecular substance-based polyimide film instead of plastic on the back.
The second screen is transparent and is considered to outperform older models, with the company talking about a significant reduction in image blur and 30% increase in permeability.
As reported in a BBC report, the company claims that its new monitors prove to be on the road for much larger, Ultra HD-capable flexible displays in the near future.
