In November 2014 the Mozilla Foundation announced the launch pluswork με το Tor Project. Για όσους από εσάς δεν γνωρίζετε, το Tor Project επιτρέπει connections that transcend all censorship. By connecting to servers of the Tor Project, you can access the internet anonymously.
The Mobzilla Foundation started to support the Tor network, featuring 12's new high-speed Tor relays (nodes). All connection points of the relays are powered by three HP ProLiant G6 SL170z servers with Juniper EX4200 network switches and the following features:
- 48 GB RAM
- 2 x Xeon L5640 CPUs
- 21 Gbps NIC
The Mobzilla Foundation has provided additional 10 Gb / s channels supporting this infrastructure with fast internet, splitting it from its own network infrastructure. This will ensure that Mossilla's services will remain unaffected by potential issues raised in the Tor network.
In the future, the Mozilla Foundation has promised to improve Firefox to make it more "friendly" to the Tor network. So did its developers Mozilla will use parts of Tor's infrastructure in future versions of the Firefox browser for better end-user protection.
