The new version of Gov.gr Wallet, which as of today incorporates basic gov.gr functions and significant new capabilities, was presented today by the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, at a press conference at the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The new Gov.gr Wallet has a simpler design, to be easy to use by all citizens. It also has new features, which will be continuously expanded, with the aim of becoming one of the main points of interaction between citizens and the state by 2027. The goal is to serve and inform citizens about all procedures and capabilities of the State directly from their mobile phone.
“From today, citizens can have the new Gov.gr Wallet, the most popular application of the Greek State, on their mobile phones. An application, which was launched during the pandemic in order to provide solutions and outlets for identification issues, is being transformed from a repository of records into a key point of interface between citizens and the state. With the new Gov.gr Wallet, we are taking another important step towards a more modern and more efficient state. By placing particular emphasis on the protection of personal data, we are bringing the “Citizen’s Box” to the forefront as a unique and secure channel of communication between citizens and the state, we are integrating the Digital Assistant “mAigov”, so that the service becomes more direct and personal, we are introducing a special framework for citizens to see their Personal Number at any time. And this is just the beginning for the new Gov.gr Wallet. We are enriching and will continue to enrich it continuously with new features, making it the common “meeting point” of the Public Administration. Our goal is to simplification and unification, so that citizens do not need to download many different applications, but find all the services they need in one place. This is followed by the integration of real estate data, professional properties, and dynamic document updates. We are building step by step a digital state that stands by the citizens and gains their trust.”
Gov.gr Wallet allows you to create, store and control your digital documents. Digital ID cards and their copies, digital driver's licenses, digital disability cards, digital DYPA cards, digital academic cards, digital ring cards and myAuto are supported.
Gov.gr Wallet digital documents are fully equivalent to paper documents, for any legal use within the Greek territory. Digital ID cards and digital driving licenses are not international travel documents.
In addition, sports tickets are added.
To use the application, your personal TaxisNet codes and possession of a confirmed mobile phone number at EMEp or your personal web banking codes are necessary.
