New versions of ESET IS, NOD32 Antivirus and Smart Security

ESET announced today that it is launching the latest versions of security products for Windows home users. New versions of ESET Internet Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security Premium offer enhanced protection.

Security enhancements include malware detection, web banking, password security and smart home protection, and meet ESET's goal of creating a more secure digital world for all.

With the growing volume of cyber attacks, it is vital that users are safe in their online activities. These updates provide solutions to problems with key issues such as electronic payments and banking threats, identity theft and leakage, stolen passwords and the security of interconnected devices.

ESET is constantly improving its solutions to ensure that users have access to the latest cybersecurity technologies without compromising the operation of their system. The updates offer Improved Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), Advanced Level of Machine Learning, as well as a significant reduction in the size of the Machine Learning function.

Other key updates include the new Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and System Registry features to detect malware that uses WMI or the system registry. The Connected Home feature has been improved with better features for detecting connected devices and troubleshooting security.

The security of financial transactions is a top priority and the upgraded Protection of Banking Transactions & Electronic Payments offers a special secure browser function through which users can make secure payments online.

The new feature allows users to run, by default, any supported browser in safe mode. With Safe Mode enabled, keyboard and mouse communication with the browser is encrypted, thus preventing keylogging.
In addition, thanks to the additional level of protection provided by the Banking Transaction & Electronic Payments Protection, when Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is enabled, users receive updates on the imminent risks of exploiting RDP by malware.

Finally, the ESET Password Manager feature has been completely refreshed and features new features such as remote logout and remote deletion of browsing history and is available through both browser and mobile extensions.

Commenting on the upgrades, Matej Krištofík, product manager at ESET, said: "As cyber threats become more complex and frequent, it is vital to protect users and their devices at every level. Technology is at the heart of our lives, from online banking to connected homes, so today more than ever our personal technology needs to be safe and secure. We are proud to offer the latest Windows security product updates to home users. This reflects our commitment to evolution and innovation to ensure a secure digital experience for all. ”
