Earlier this week, Microsoft released the final Patch Tuesday for April 2026. In Windows 11 with the versions KB5083769 and KB5082052, the new update brings a significant change to Remote Desktop, among others, although there are also some errors. Such as the one that forces BitLocker recovery and another that leads to repeated reboots, although this applies to Servers.
However, Microsoft says that these issues do not affect home PCs, so if you want, you can download and install the update via Windows Update. But if you want to perform a clean install via USB, then you will need the Media Creation Tool (MCT), which was also recently updated with the April 2026 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2.

Further down the page you will find a download link for the official application (in the “Create Windows 11/Windows 10 installation media” section).
The ISO that the application will download should contain the latest available Windows Defender update.
