Last month ended the popular Popcorn Time, as some of the site's top developers had to face lawsuits in Canada. The MPAA claimed that it had made one of the biggest hits against piracy in recent history, but its victory was rather temporary.
According to a publication in Reddit one of its original developers applications, is preparing a new upgraded application. His effort is said to have been successful, as a fully functional one has already been released version via Reddit.
The fixed version uses new APIs, so it is possible to view movies and TV shows without having the YTS website as a provider.
Updating the application code through Reddit is just the beginning.
The people behind VPN.ht, the VPN service (created by some Popcorn Time developers), also informed the public, that a new updated version of streaming application is being prepared.
Popcorn Time Wally developer, who also runs the VPN.ht service, told TorrentFreak that Popcorn Time will come back.
"I'm still considering a full comeback, I just do not want to release a half working version," Wally said.
This of course shows that nothing is over and MPAA probably celebrated its victory very quickly ...
