Η Nintendo is stopping production of its latest Wii U console, according to a publication in the Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
This will actually change the game company that appears to be shifting from the Wii U and the old 3DS platform to its upcoming NX special device.
The publication says that Nintendo has already stopped manufacturing some of the Wii U accessories. And of course that makes sense.
The Wii U has fallen far behind Microsoft and Sony in the field of competition despite having a one-year head start.
A $99.300.000.000 gaming industry like Nintendo shouldn't lose any more ground, and money on a platform that lags behind competitors.
The Nikkei publication also claims Nintendo will release the NX this year, something the company has said in the past.
But stopping the production of the Wii U, Nintendo could potentially launch the successor this year.
