The Nobara Project is a modified version of Fedora Linux with user-friendly fixes.
The distribution comes with some features not available with regular Fedora. The latest version of the project is version 39, which optimizes some features:
“We've removed the codec installer program and integrated it as part of the System Update application.
The goal here was to streamline package updates in one place so there are fewer popups for the user in a clean install.
Now, when a user performs a fresh install, they will see a popup informing them that they need to update the system.
After the update it will be asked a few questions, including updating media codec packages, updating Flatpaks and snaps.
There will still be a popup for NVIDIA drivers if the user decides to change GPUs and/or not install them using an ISO image that contains the NVIDIA drivers and has an NVIDIA GPU.
The layout picker has been removed as it was based on GNOME, and we no longer use GNOME as our main desktop.”
