Noel Biderman, its founder and CEO Ashley Madison, resigned today after the recent hack.
The news comes in the form of a small statement from Ashley Madison's parent company, Avid Life Media (ALM), which adds that the company will currently be run by "existing executives."
As for the reasons why the change, ALM only said it was done in the best interest of the company and to support its existing members and employees.
He also reiterated that he is working with law enforcement authorities to locate the hackers who attacked Ashley Madison.
Of course, such or some similar move by the company was expected, as it wishes to gain again the confidence of its audience.
Here is the full ALM statement:
Effective today, Noel Biderman, in consultation with the company, is stepping down as CEO of Avid Life Media and is no longer part of the company. Until the appointment of a new CEO, the company will be led by the existing management team.
