It seems something is starting to change after so many protests for mobile phones that do not even allow you to change the battery. The new phone Nokia G22 is the first of a new line of Nokia phones designed to be serviceable by end users and thus have a long life.

Made with recycled and designed to be repaired by owners at home, the Nokia G22 will launch in two weeks, on March 8 in most of Europe and some other outside the US, in around €180.

Nokia along with the spare parts it also offers repair instructions, but also selling the tools and parts needed to replace the battery, charging port and screen.

The company promises to keep these parts in stock for the next five years. He also mentions that the repair according to its guide and with official parts counts as an authorized repair, so it does not void the warranty!.

Adam Ferguson, the head of HMD, which owns the rights to the Nokia brand, in a public demonstration changed the battery from a G22 in less than five minutes, explaining that it would have taken an hour and a half to do the same on a previous-generation phone . When asked, he said it would take about 20 minutes to replace the screen.

The screen in question costs around 54 euros as a spare part. A new battery costs 27 euros and a new USB-C port assembly costs 23 euros and all the tools required should cost around 7 euros.

You can find the features of the phone from the official website. It doesn't really matter if you get that particular phone or not. What matters is that something is beginning to change in the logic of mobile phone manufacturers in the interest of the consumer.
