The NSA had penetrated the OPEC networks from 2008

opecAccording to a publication by him Der Spiegel, the security service of (NSA) is particularly interested in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries or as we know it OPEC) and penetration into their network was one of its top priorities.

The German magazine reports say the NSA has managed to penetrate its networks OPEC from in January 2008. Despite having access to of his various countries OPEC in January of 2008 managed to gain access to the whole network.

Its current members OPEC are Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

NSA's interest in oil companies had been known for the first time with publications who wanted the US secret service to monitor its communications closely Petrobras, a Brazilian oil company.
