Five years ago an NSA program ended in failure. A Reuters report details how the US tried to infect North Korea's nuclear weapons program with a version of the virus Stuxnet.
The Reuters report states that the attempt contaminationIt took place around the same time as the successful attack on Iran's nuclear program.
The result of the second attack was to ruin some 1000 uranium enrichment centrifuges.
Reuters reports that the attack on Iran was a joint effort by the US and Israeli forces.
Something related went on to computers with North Korean computers, but the Stuxnet virus could not spread.
According to an American source secret services, the developers of Stuxnet developed a parchange of the virus that could be activated when it encountered computer settings in the Korean language.
However, US agents could not gain access to the networks that were running the Pyongyang Nuclear Weapons Program.
NSA, of course, declined to comment on the Reuters publication.
