OCR.Space is a free online service of a9t9 software GmbH that can extract text from photos in Greek.
For those who do not know what OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is, for information this is a function with which you can retrieve editable text from a photo. It is an ideal convenience for those who need secretarial support as it saves you time typing, especially for large texts.
Normally we should present you with the headline software (a9t9) Free OCR Software, because the online service of OCR.Space is based on this.
(a9t9) Free OCR Software
A9t9 Free OCR Software is a free OCR application for Windows that can run on all versions of Windows. So you can use it with any Windows device you have.
Supports 21 languages, including Greek, for image analysis. The app is free to use and ads can be removed with an in-app purchase. Like most free OCR programs, it works well on printed documents with a well-known font and not on handwritten texts.
Could you download from the Microsoft Store
OCR Space
There is also an online OCR equivalent powered by the same a9t9 API. It is called OCR.Space and you can work with it for free through any Browser, from here.
The operation is quite simple. Upload a photo that contains text, tell it in which language the text is and press the Start OCR! Button.
You can get the text in the photo in text or json format with a simple paste-copy. The service does not require registration and of course you can access it from any operating system.
Alternative to the a9t9 and want a program with a permanent installation, there is the software Capture2Text that we presented to you here.
Good tool but google has set out to monopolize everything. The new google lens OCR inside google photos is really incredible!
Great tool!
