Microsoft announced yesterday the availability of Office 2016 worldwide. However, the company, trying to promote its new operating system at the same time, offers special prices to those who have upgraded their system to Windows 10.
Terry Myerson, head of Microsoft's Windows team, announced today that Windows 10 users running Office 2010 or version released earlier can get Office 2016 at a 50% discount if they decide to buy an Office 365 subscription.
All you have to do is use the Get Office built-in Windows 10 application, as Myerson explained.
“I'd also like to point out a very cool offer from the Office team – if you did upgrade on Windows 10 and have Office 2010 or later, you can get a 50% discount on a one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal through the pre-installed Get Office app.”
Subscription Office 365 Personal is the most affordable version of the suite and costs only 7 dollars per month and 69,99 per year. Prices may vary by country.
Let's say we observe that the company is trying to attract customers to the app distribution and operating system subscription system. This specific offer for Office 2016, for example, only concerns the subscription of the Personal package to Office 365 and not the ISO market.
Those who already have Microsoft's new operating system installed can install a free version of Office if the device they have a 10-inch screen or smaller.
The free Office is optimized for touch screens and is offered as a universal app from the Windows Store.
It has the basic features and allows users to open documents, spreadsheets and presentations on computers, tablets, smartphones running Windows 10.
