Microsoft today unveiled the new version of the Office 2019 suite. The new Office 2019 will only be released for Windows 10 (and the newest LTSC on Windows Server) and Apple's MacOSX devices (in the latest version according to Microsoft).
Commercial license customers can access Office 2019 from today, and all others (home users and businesses) will be able to buy and install the new Office version in the coming weeks.
Office 2019 is the new internal version of the Office suite that includes updates to Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Access, and Project (the last four are only available for Windows).
Office Server products, Exchange Server 2019, Skype for Business Server 2019, SharePoint Server 2019, and Project Server 2019 will be released in the coming weeks.
Changes
Here is a list of important changes to Office 2019 compared to the previous Office 2016:
Word 2019: Black theme, learning tools, text-to-speech, improved ink support, accessibility enhancements.
Excel 2019: charts, 2D maps, schedules, new features and Excel links, Excel enhancements to PowerBI, PowerPivot and PowerQuery.
PowerPoint 2019: Morph feature, slideshow capabilities, icon insertion and management, SVG and 3D models.
Outlook 2019: Support for Office 365 groups (with Exchange Online account), focused incoming mail, updated contact tabs, and @mentions.
Office 365 features are missing
The following features are supported by Office 365 but are not included in Office 2019:
Editor and researcher in Word.
Tap in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Designer in PowerPoint.
Ideas and data types in Excel.
Real-time collaboration in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and @ mentions.
Encrypt Office 365 messages.

What you need to know about Office 2019
1. There will be another version of Office
Microsoft has revealed today that Office 2019 will not be the latest version of Office. This means that the company will release another version of Office that will not be based on the cloud.
2. There is no MSI installer
Microsoft launched the click-to-run installer with Office 2013 for the first time. Users and administrators can install Office 2013 and 2016 by using the click-to-run installation program or the MSI Setup program.
Office 2019 only supports click-to-run installations. One of the key issues facing administrators and users is that the click-to-run installation program installs all Office applications. So there will be a problem if you intend not to use them all.
As a solution to this issue, Microsoft recommends the Office Deployment Tool that you can download from the company's website. This is a command line tool for the development of Microsoft Office click-to-run versions.
3. One-time payment, No subscriptions and no updates
Office 2019 is available with a one-off payment. In other words: there are no subscriptions. The downside is that Microsoft has decided to limit the updates. The company states that Office 2019 will not receive new features after it is released.
4. Support for earlier versions of Office continues
You can upgrade from an earlier supported version of Office to the new Office 2019. Office 2013 and 2016 are still supported.
5. Office 2019 does not require Internet access when used
Office 2019 will not require an active Internet connection when it is installed.
6. Office 2019 will be backed up for seven years
Microsoft revealed that Office 2019 will have five years of mainstream support and two years of extensive support.
7. You will not be able to run Office 2019 on a computer that contains Office 2016
Office 2016 and Office 2019 can not run simultaneously on the same operating system.
