Until today, the app was only available for Windows Phones. The application Office Lens allows users to scan documents, tables, and more and store them in OneNote and OneDrive. An Office blog post describes some of the features of the Office Lens application that, as mentioned above, will be available for the Android and iOS platforms:office lens

  • It recognizes the corners of a document and cuts it automatically. Enhances and clears the image.
  • Identifies printed text with OCR so you can search the image with OneNote or OneDrive with a keyword.
  • Converts document images to txt files and spreadsheets to Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files for easy editing by re-formatting them (see more details here).
  • Captures business cards and creates contacts you can add to your phone.
  • Includes images in OneNote or OneDrive in DOCX, PPTX, JPG or PDF formats and gives you options for storing, exporting and sharing the image.
