Alex Kibkalo, a former employee of her Microsoft who left the company 2012, was arrested today by the FBI after a year of investigations into allegedly leaking copies of Windows 7 and Windows 8 on the Internet.
According to her publication Seattle Post, Kibkalo when he gained access to the copies of Windows 7 and Windows 8, uploaded them to his personal cloud and then allowed a French blogger, who has never revealed his identity, to download all the files and share them on fornetwork.
The report states that Kibkalo, who worked at the company for 7 years, was “uploading to the cloud proprietary software including the Pre-release updates for Windows 8, as well as the Microsoft Activation Server Software Development Kit (SDK.”
It seems, of course, that this was not the first time that Kibkalo leaked company records on the Internet, as there are published photos of his Twitter accounts presenting the company's products before their release.
Kibkalo was arrested on Wednesday. He is accused of stealing commercial secrets, and his first hearing by prosecutors is scheduled this week.
