The openSUSE Project was released today the openSUSE Leap 15.1-alpha operating system. The new operating system is based on the upcoming SUSE Enterprise Linux 15.1 series and features updated components and technologies designed for power users.
The openSuSE Leap 15.1 operating system has all the features needed by users and IT professionals, such as the ability to upgrade from openSUSE Leap 15.1 to SUSE Linux Enterprise 15.1 when it is released later in 2019.
The transition to SUSE Linux Enterprise is for system administrators seeking long-term support, and all the necessary credentials a business operating system needs.
According to the Roadmap of version 15, the final version 15.1 will be released in May 2019.
The features of the new openSUSE Leap 15.1 operating system have not been announced yet, but the first ISO is released for those who want to try out the upcoming version.
