Yes, you read that right: Opera 38 with free VPN! The new development version of the program browsing Opera has just been released for testing and it brings something really useful and unique.
The desktop version of the Opera 38 browser has an important new feature, a free one service VPN που επιτρέπει στο χρήστη να έχει πρόσβαση στο διαnetwork via VPN connection with one click!
For those who do not know what VPN means, let's explain why it is so important.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables private connectivity by using tunneling protocols and encrypting traffic over a public network, such as the Internet.
Traffic passes through another IP address which offers (almost) anonymity and security. Another important advantage is that if you encounter geographically limited content, you will be able to access it by connecting to the Internet with an IP that is not located in Greece.
So the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the government or some man in the middle can only see the VPN server you are connecting and nothing else.
To enable the new feature you will need to open the settings. See it below picture:
The browser option that will allow you to enable or disable VPN is located in the address bar.
Once the VPN is enabled, the user can define a virtual location from which his IP address will be served.
This option may affect the speed of your connection. Depending on your current location, select a different server to cope with the slow connection speed. So try to change the server until you find one more suitable for you.
Opera 28 supports the following features in the free VPN service:
Hide the IP address. Opera will replace your IP address with a virtual address, making it harder to track your location and locate your computer. This means you can browse the web privately.
Blocking Web and Web Firewalls - Many countries, schools, and workplaces block streaming video sites, social networks, and other services. With a VPN, you can access your favorite content, no matter where you are.
Public Wi-Fi - When surfing the Internet from public Wi-Fi, intruders can easily "listen" to your data. By using a VPN, you can improve the security of your personal information.
