Opera browser blocking features appeared last month in beta browser versions. But today they are also available in the stable version for PC and Android users.
The new updated fixed version of Opera comes with ad blocking capabilities and you can get it directly for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The Opera Mini for Android also comes with built-in ad blocker.
In addition to the built-in ad blocker, the browser offers a cleaner browsing experience, and appears to be faster, regardless of the platform.
In addition, Opera reports that even when ad blocker is enabled, the browser is 89% faster than a standard browser without such feature. The Opera Mini is 40% faster, according to the company.
"Opera is the first company to offer a native ad blocker on all devices," says Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera.
It should be noted that the feature is not enabled by default, and of course it makes sense, as there may be criticism from advertisers.
To enable the feature on a computer that is running Opera, all you have to do is start the browser, open the settings screen. On the Privacy and security tab, there is the Ad Block category. Enable the feature and enjoy a Web without ads.
On Android devices, press the "O" menu in the browser, and look for the setting.
