Η Oracle Greece, in collaboration with Java Hellenic User Group (jhug.gr) and under the auspices of the National Research & Technology Network (GRNET), organizes the first official, after 2009,
Java Day in Greece. The event will take place on Wednesday 7 May, 9-18.00, in Cotsen Hall (Swedens 54, Kolonaki), while it will also be broadcast via Livestreaming from diavlos.grnet.gr for those outside Athens.
Java Guru, users, developers, academics, teachers, students, researchers and all members of the Java community are invited to a technology conference that includes the presentation of Java 8 in Greece, specialized technical modules, case studies of major projects and applications based on Java technology but also wider debates on the future of the platform.
As part of the event, Call 4 Papers has already been launched for its members market and academia interested in presenting innovative applications and projects "that can change the way we communicate, collaborate and do business". Submission of content proposals will close on April 11. Proposals will be evaluated by the JD committee, consisting of 2 Oracle executives, 2 members of the Java Hellenic User Group and 2 academics. The final answers to those who have sent their proposals will be given by April 23.
