The Police of Greece Police Department, in cooperation with the authorities of Europol, participated in a global operation under the code name "Pacifier" to combat pornography of minors and formed a file on an autonomous procedure against 21hronik.
Specifically, as part of the operation, research was conducted on the TOR network to identify users involved in the possession and distribution of child pornography. Specifically, in special platform "hidden service" of the network in question, which was seized by the US authorities, exclusively detected content with sexual abuse of minors. The seized material was analyzed by the FBI Services and Europol, with the aim of identifying both the administrators of these Services and the user-members.
From the surveys, electronic traces emerged within the Greek territory and then the data were made available to the Prosecutor's Office of Athens, which issued a relevant bill for the removal of the confidentiality of communications.
The Electronic Crime Investigation Division conducted an in-depth analysis of the electronic traces and identified an electronic trace in an 21-time internet connection.
A cluster of policemen went yesterday (19.08.2015) to his home in a region of Thessaloniki and in the presence of a Judicial Officer, conducted an on-the-spot investigation, in which an internal hard disk of a fixed computer belonging to 21 was found and seized.
It is noted that 21, as found during the survey, was living and working temporarily in a hotel in a prefecture of Ilia, where another police station went on the afternoon of the same day (19.08.2015) in order to re-investigate.
The survey, carried out in the presence of 21ron, identified its portable computer, which contained a host of child pornography material, an act for which 21 was arrested at the limits of self-care.
In total, during the searches, the following were found and seized: internal computer hard drive, laptop computer (laptop) and portable storage medium, USB type.
All evidence will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Division for the necessary laboratory examinations, while the case is investigated as the digital material will be investigated by specialized officers to determine the place of origin and the identity of the victims.
21, with the case filed against him, will be referred to the relevant Prosecutor's Office.
