Gemini 3 Flash combines the incredible reasoning power of Gemini 3 with the speed users expect from Search. Google is also expanding access to Pro models in the US, which include powerful AI authoring tools that help visualize complex topics and gain deeper insights.

Starting December 17, Google is rolling out Gemini 3 Flash as the default model for AI Mode globally. Gemini 3 Flash’s strong reasoning, tooling, and multimodal capabilities allow AI Mode to tackle your most complex questions with greater accuracy, without compromising speed.
With this upgrade, AI Mode becomes a more powerful tool overall. It better understands your needs so you can ask more targeted questions, taking into account any of your limitations and giving a thoughtful, well-formatted answer.
And as always, you'll have access to real-time information and useful links from around the web so you can explore further and take action.
Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro Extension in Search
Gemini 3 Pro is now available in Search for all users in the U.S. By simply selecting “Thinking with 3 Pro” from the model drop-down menu in AI Mode, users can get in-depth help on their toughest questions, including dynamic visualizations with interactive tools and simulations, which are created specifically for each user in real time.
Google is also expanding access to Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) in Search. Now, more users in the US can use the cutting-edge image creation and editing model in AI Mode by selecting the model «Thinking with 3 Pro» and then the option «Create Images Pro».
For these two Pro models that feature AI creation tools, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will have higher usage limits. Google is excited to give even more users access to the most advanced models and experiences it has built to date, now available directly in Search.
