Patch Tuesday April: Attention problems

Microsoft released the latest for Patch Tuesday April 2020 yesterday afternoon, and today the company warns, stating that one of the patches could break certain types of it Basic for Applications (VBA).

More specifically, the problem was identified in an update του Microsoft Office και εάν η συσκευή σας επηρεάζεται, θα δείτε το παρακάτω :

Patch Tuesday

“Compile error: Cannot find project or books” or in English “Compile error: Can't find project or library.”

This error occurs when working with files: executable files (.exe), ActiveX control (.ocx) and typelibs (.olb, .tlb and .dll).

Microsoft says that certain types of files are blocked after the update is installed, regardless of whether they were downloaded from the Internet or servers.

“Όταν εγκαθιστάτε μία από τις του Microsoft Office που εξηγείται στο Microsoft Common Vulnerilities and Exposures CVE-2020-0760, ενδέχεται να παρατηρήσετε ότι αποκλείονται ορισμένοι τύποι αναφορών της Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) και λαμβάνετε ένα μήνυμα σφάλματος” αναφέρει η εταιρεία.

What can you do if this error appears on your screen after you install Patch Tuesday updates? Microsoft says the only way to fix this is to replace the locked libraries with local ones, and gives more instructions:

"VBA Internet Object Libraries: We recommend that you exclude them because they are vulnerable.

Intranet VBA Object Libraries: You can enable them via a GPO setting, as shown in the image below. The setting can be found in User Configuration> Management Templates> Microsoft Office 2016> Security Settings. ”

If the above problem does not affect you, you will not need to do anything on your system.
