Patch Tuesday May 2025 (it would be good to wait)

Microsoft released security and non-security updates for all supported versions of the Windows operating system, as well as for other company products, such as Microsoft Office, as part of the May 2025 Patch Tuesday.

Microsoft released a total of 78 security updates for various company products and 5 security updates for non-Microsoft issues (e.g. Chromium).

Problems on Windows clients:
Windows 10 version 1809, 21H2, 22H2
Problems on Windows Server:
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2019
Windows Server 2022

The list below summarizes the issues being fixed.

• Windows 10 version 22H2: 34 vulnerabilities, 3 critical, 31 important
• Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2: 35 vulnerabilities, 3 critical, 32 important
• Windows 11 version 24H2: 36 vulnerabilities, 3 critical, 33 important

All updates can be downloaded through Windows Update. Usually, any security update is recommended to be installed immediately. However, if the stability of your system is important to you, it may be a good idea to wait a few days.

Usually a few days after the release and after the updates have been installed by the first daredevils, problems begin to appear that Microsoft is called upon to fix.
