The Kaspersky Internet Security for Android took first place in a test of security products for Android, which was carried out by the independent Chinese company PC Security Labs. According the results of the test, Kaspersky Lab's product successfully passed the threats at 99,959% and did not record any false positive results.
The test was performed on mobile devices with Android software (versions 4.x). Malicious software samples and legitimate applications were recorded on the device SD card. The security product under test was then installed on the device and upgraded to its latest version. Then, the scan function was activated in all security solutions available or manually installed all applications - samples in solutions that only supported automatic scanning. During the test, all correct detections were recorded malware and all the false positive results. These data were then used to calculate the final result.
In total, 13 products from various vendors participated in the test. The Kaspersky Internet Security for Android detected 2.434 malicious samples from 2.435 used and did not prevent the installation of legitimate applications. The closest competitor product correctly detected 2.422 malicious applications (12 less) and showed 2 false positives. In this way, the Kaspersky Lab showed 0,693 points more than the second in the ranking product, bringing together 99,959 from the total 100 points.
