PDF embedding on your page in a different way

How do you embed PDF into your site? A popular option is to upload the PDF file to an online storage service, such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, make the file public, and then copy-paste the IFRAME code provided by those services to embed the document on any website.

Here is a sample PDF embed code from Google Drive that works on all s.

PDF

This is the most common method for embedding PDF files. It's simple, tested and works, but its downside is that it doesn't offer any control over the way of PDF files on you.

If you prefer to offer a more customized and immersive PDF reading experience that you view on your site, take a look at the new Adobe View SDK. It's part of the Adobe Document Cloud platform, but it comes free.

Here are some unique features that make this RDF integration solution stand out:

  • You can add commenting within the program of PDFs. Anyone can comment on the embedded PDF and download the modified file.
  • If you have a large multi-page document embedded, readers can use thumbnail view to quickly navigate to any page.
  • The PDF viewer can be customized to hide options for downloading and printing PDF files.
  • There are built-in details so you know how many people saw the PDF file and how they interacted with it.
  • And my favorite feature of ViewSDK is the of integration. Let's see how it's done:

In Inline mode, all pages of the embedded PDF document are displayed at the same time, so that visitors to your site do not have to move from one document to another. PDF controls are hidden from the user and PDF pages are combined with images and other HTML content on your webpage.

It takes some steps to use the View SDK. Create credentials for your site from the adobe.io page. Please note that credentials apply to a single domain. If you have more than one, you will need different credentials for each of them.

Next, create the embed code. You need to replace clientId with your credentials. The URL of the code should indicate the location of the PDF file.
