Η Microsoft helped the police by providing useful information that led to the arrest of a pedophile in the United States according to the BBC.
According to the publication, the man was found to have two illegal naked child pictures in his OneDrive account, which he tried to send with the Outlook.com e-mail service. The arrest took place on 31 July following Microsport's information.
PhotoDNA's technology assigns to each photo automatically a digital signature, which is then used to compare images. In this way, if an image has already been flagged as illegal, Microsoft will notify the law enforcement authorities.
The man as reported by the BBC has been jailed and his trial scheduled for next week.
